Entre Nous Gin Tonic

ORIGIN:

Originating as a medicine, the ingredient in Gin Tonic, quinine, was created by British soldiers to combat Malaria in 19th-century India. Since the taste of quinine was very bitter and unpleasant, the idea came about to make the medicine more palatable, thus adding water, sugar, and lime.  And so, the Gin Tonic was born as a way to mask the bitterness of quinine, which created a refreshing cocktail in its place.

Entre Nous White Lady

ORIGIN:

This cocktail is one of the signature creations of Harry MacElhone, the bartender who brought fame and prestige to Harry's New York Bar in Paris after becoming its owner in 1923. That same year, he modified the recipe for the White Lady, which had been created a few years earlier but didn’t quite satisfy him. He replaced the crème de menthe with gin and adjusted the quantities of the ingredients—particularly the triple sec and lemon juice—resulting in a version that has since gone down in history.

INGREDIENTS:

  •   Entre Nous Gin - 5 cl

  •   Triple sec - 1.5 cl

  •   Lemon juice – 2.5 cl

  •   Simple syrup – 1 cl

  •   Egg white – 1.5 cl

PREPARATION:

  •   Swirl a few ice cubes in your cocktail glass to chill it

  •   Pour all the ingredients into your shaker

  •   Shake for 10 seconds without ice

  •   Add 8 to 10 ice cubes and shake again for 15 seconds

  •   Remove the ice cubes from the cocktail glass

  •   Strain the cocktail into the glass.

Entre Nous Negroni

ORIGIN:

It is said that Count Camillo Negroni was a regular at Caffè Casoni in Florence. The year was 1919, and the aristocrat usually enjoyed an Americano as his aperitif. But upon returning from England, where he had discovered gin, he asked the bartender of the establishment, Fosco Scarelli, to modify his usual cocktail by replacing the sparkling water with the English spirit, of which he had brought back a bottle.

The cocktail was an instant success, and Scarelli, in tribute to the Count, decided to name it after him.

INGREDIENTS:

  •   Entre Nous Gin - 3 cl

  •   Campari - 3 cl

  •   Red Vermouth - 3 cl

PREPARATION:

  •   Fill your Old Fashioned glass with ice cubes

  •   Pour all the ingredients into the glass
